**Job Summary**

The City of Calgary is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Education Specialist to join our Recreation and Social Programs team. As a Specialized Adult Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in your specialized discipline, including the development of skill bases and knowledge in the activity area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging and effective programs that meet the needs of diverse participants.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and program materials, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Assess participant needs and provide adaptations to ensure inclusive and accessible programming.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for participants, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and program spaces, ensuring a high level of quality and organization.
  • Maintain accurate program records and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to participant needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in program planning, organization, and leadership.
  • Knowledge of specialized equipment and ability to set up, maintain, and operate it safely.
  • Experience working with diverse groups, including those with varying disabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing program needs and participant requirements.
  • Sound judgment in safety standards and protocols.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
