Business Systems Analyst - Financial Services

On behalf of CB Canada, we are seeking a Business Systems Analyst specializing in Financial Products and Investments.

Business Systems Analyst - Financial Services – Role Overview

  • Conduct comprehensive stakeholder requirements analysis to identify affected groups and their responsibilities.
  • Create detailed plans and accurate timelines for requirement completion, enhancing the precision of estimates over time.
  • Identify and manage risks, assumptions, and constraints related to requirements, ensuring effective communication with relevant parties.
  • Lead collaborative sessions with diverse business stakeholders to facilitate requirements discovery, analysis, and validation.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure thorough documentation of vendor requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future projects, adhering to enterprise standards.
  • Prepare requirements for review using various communication techniques and lead walkthroughs and sign-off sessions.
  • Utilize advanced coverage analysis techniques to ensure alignment between project scope, detailed requirements, and testing through to implementation.
  • Provide mentorship and support to enhance the skills of junior Business Analysts.

Business Systems Analyst - Financial Services – Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
  • Proficiency with Orchestrators, APIs, and mid-tier services.
  • Experience in integrating third-party vendor solutions.
  • Prior experience with personal financial products and investments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently gather business and systems requirements.
  • Strong understanding of requirements methodologies (planning, elicitation, documentation) within both Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to perform gap analysis.
  • Proven experience with user stories, business and system specifications, business context diagrams, and process mapping.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects exceeding $2 million.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging both business unit and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating discussions with large groups of stakeholders (15–20 or more).
  • Strong collaboration skills and adaptability to changing environments.
