Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies, cleaning and maintaining company vehicles and equipment, and setting up worksites as directed by the foreman or manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies needed for daily work assignments.
- Clean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for use.
- Set up worksites, including setting up flagging, opening manholes or services boxes, and using gas detectors to assess and ensure gas readings are adequate prior to entering manholes.
- Follow directions and instructions assigned by the foreman or manager.
- Perform landscaping-related duties.
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health, and safety policies of AFL.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Requirements
- Previous utility or construction experience is an asset.
- Capable of working in all temperatures and climates and in confined spaces.
- Ability to travel to various site-based projects if required.
- Interpersonal skills – ability to work well on a team.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, with shift work and traveling required.
