About the Role
AFL is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Skilled Labourer to join our team in Rural Manitoba. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies needed for daily work assignments.
- Clean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for use.
- Set up worksites, including flagging, opening manholes or services boxes, and using gas detectors to ensure gas readings are adequate prior to entering manholes.
- Follow directions and instructions assigned by the foreman or manager.
- Perform landscaping-related duties.
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health, and safety policies of AFL.
Requirements
- Previous utility or construction experience is an asset.
- Ability to work in all temperatures and climates and in confined spaces.
- Ability to travel to various site-based projects if required.
- Interpersonal skills – ability to work well on a team.
