NÖORD TECHNOLOGIES, a leading player in the software publishing industry, is in search of a skilled embedded systems engineer.

Reporting to the manager of embedded software development, the engineer will undertake various responsibilities within the SecureMesh WAN engineering team. Key duties include engaging in the design and execution of technical solutions across all layers of the OSI model, crafting low-level drivers, collaborating with the hardware design team, developing application protocols within a real-time embedded system framework, and offering technical expertise for intricate problem-solving, with occasional global travel to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and development of wireless products utilizing our proprietary IEEE a/b/g/n protocol;
  • Implement new features based on client requirements and requests from the business development team;
  • Enhance product reliability, performance, and maintainability through modifications;
  • Update products to accommodate new hardware revisions;
  • Assist in certification processes;
  • Actively engage in design review sessions;
  • Create software specifications and design documentation;
  • Provide technical assistance to both internal and external clients;
  • Participate in field testing activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related disciplines;
  • Proven experience in the design and development of real-time embedded systems (RTOS);
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment;
  • Familiarity with hardware component networking configurations;
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectral analyzers, and JTAG debugging tools;
  • Proficient in C/C++ and GIT;
  • Ability to interpret hardware schematics and datasheets;
  • Knowledge of VxWorks, embedded Linux, or other RTOS;
  • Understanding of WLAN standards and Qualcomm/Atheros ath9k technology;
  • Experience with embedded processors (ARM, PowerPC, MIPS, etc.);
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and packet analysis (Ethernet, WLAN, TCP/IP, IPsec VPN, VLAN, FTP, SSH, SNMP, HTTP, NTP, and DHCP);
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
