Claims Specialist Job Description

Snowbirds Auto Connection Ltd. is seeking a part-time Claims Specialist to join our team. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for handling automobile claims in a professional and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Claim Handling: Communicate with claimants, the company, and relevant parties to document, process, investigate, and finalize automobile claims.
  • Liability Calculation: Exercise judgment to calculate liability and ensure accurate claim resolution.
  • Claim Resolution: Work to achieve timely resolution of claims, including developing case strategies and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Vehicle Repair Estimates: Ability to decipher and understand vehicle repair estimates from body shops.
  • Attention to Detail: Review and analyze images, photos, videos, and vehicle condition reports to ensure accurate claim processing.
  • Claimant Communication: Respond to claimants in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reporting: Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting on claims investigated.
  • Documentation: Document all claims in a detailed and organized manner, including all pertinent information.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and utilize available tools and resources.
  • Expense Management: Manage expenses by working with auto body/repair shops and managing the scope of work assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of how to evaluate automobile damage.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Customer Service: Minimum 3 years of customer service experience.
  • Estimate Analysis: Experience working with automobile repair/body shop estimates.
  • Insurance Claims: Any experience working with auto insurance claims is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Outlook proficiently.
  • Analytical Skills: Skillful in analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Work Schedule: 10 hours per week maximum. The company will provide training for company software, processes, contacts, etc.
