Job Summary

Olameter Corporation is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Utility Meter Reader to join our team. As a Meter Reader, you will be responsible for accurately reading gas meters and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and record gas meter readings for residential and commercial consumers
  • Perform visual meter inspections to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter
  • Identify and report any visible defects or issues with the meter
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: background check and driving record
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles per day while reading meters accurately
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as a condition of employment
Working Conditions and Hours
  • Day shift hours
  • Outdoor work environment
  • Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Successfully complete the company's training program and pass applicable written and field tests
  • Learn and apply safety measures relating to motor vehicle operation and other field-related matters
