ErinoakKids Center for Treatment and Development is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to support children and young adults with medical and/or behavioral complexity within our Respite Program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized client care plans to ensure optimal health and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with respite staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Review and record all medical documentation to maintain accurate client records.
- Conduct thorough assessments and respond to client needs in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Provide direct clinical care to clients, including administering medications and performing medical procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to respite staff members as needed to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
- Operate transfer and mobility equipment to facilitate safe client movement.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols, including infection control practices, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Diploma in Practical Nursing is required.
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is mandatory.
- Previous pediatric nursing experience is essential.
- Experience working with children with physical and developmental disabilities is highly valued.
- Experience working with children and youth with challenging behaviors is desirable.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Excellent nursing assessment and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.
- Enjoy working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
