Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a relevant subject area with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from an accredited institution is required. Candidates with a Canadian educational background are preferred.
Teaching Experience: A minimum of 10 weeks of supervised student teaching experience at a recognized post-secondary institution is essential. Valid certification from the relevant authority in both the jurisdiction of training and the last teaching location is necessary. Further qualifications in special education are highly desirable.
Professional Experience: Previous experience as a learning support teacher is mandatory, with a preference for candidates who have 5 or more years of classroom teaching experience.
Language Proficiency: Native-level proficiency in spoken and written English is required, with fluency in spoken and written Chinese considered an asset.
Pedagogical Knowledge: Familiarity with contemporary educational research and development trends in special education is crucial. Proven ability to implement student-centered learning and assessment through inquiry-based methods, differentiated instruction, and the integration of technology in educational practices is expected.
