Aecon is a leading Canadian infrastructure development company, committed to safely and sustainably building what matters for future generations. We're seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to join our Heavy Civil East division on a transformative major project in the GTA.
Key Responsibilities- Project Development
- Assist in securing new work through participation in bidding and proposal teams
- Project Management
- Responsible for delivery against all budget, schedule & quality targets
- Safety: Establish safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment
- Schedule: Develop and monitor project timelines
- Quality: Ensure key metrics and KPIs are established and targets are consistently achieved
- Commercial Management: Ensure teams understand and protect Aecon/JV interests under the Prime Contract
- Stakeholder Management
- Create and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders
- People Management
- Creates and maintains a culture and environment that is open and respectful
- Hire, supervise, coach and mentor project personnel
- Communication
- Builds engagement through ongoing communication to all staff and stakeholders
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 20 years of construction leadership experience on complex major projects
- In-depth expertise in civil construction with a solid understanding of rail systems
- Experience working on complex contractual agreements and project financing
- 2-3 years' experience working on complex rail projects
- 2-3 years' experience with hard and soft rock tunneling
- Previous experience working on underground stations
- 2-3 years' experience working on major pursuits and proposals
- Proven ability to successfully manage large and complex construction projects
- Experience working on projects with international joint venture partners
- Thorough knowledge of change management principles
- Proven track record with claims management and dispute resolution on major projects
- Experience with risk identification and management
- Experience in liaising with client, subcontractor and consultant representatives
- Proven ability to effectively recruit and build teams and manage senior project staff
- Sound understanding of contractual, commercial and financial functions on major projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in French and English (oral and written)
- Responsible for delivery against all budget, schedule & quality targets
