About the Role

FIBERCOMM COMMUNICATIONS LTD is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our users, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their jobs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to users on various technical topics, including software applications, hardware operation, and network protocols.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior technical support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to handle technical issues effectively.
  • Business Systems Support: Provide technical support for business systems, including network and Internet connectivity, ensuring that users have access to the necessary resources to perform their jobs.
  • Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain equipment for employee use, including installing operating systems, software, and cables.
  • Backup and Recovery Operations: Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations to ensure that critical data is protected and can be recovered in case of a disaster.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to users, responding to their technical needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Specialized Support
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees, providing technical assistance and guidance to help them integrate into the workforce.
  • Support for Youths: Participate in government or community programs that support youth employment, providing technical assistance and guidance to help them develop their skills and find employment opportunities.
  • Support for Veterans: Participate in government or community programs that support veterans, providing technical assistance and guidance to help them transition into the workforce.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people, providing technical assistance and guidance to help them develop their skills and find employment opportunities.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Participate in government or community programs that support visible minorities, providing technical assistance and guidance to help them develop their skills and find employment opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a technical support role, or equivalent experience.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
