Job Summary

The City of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Lead to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering various sourcing projects, developing and implementing sourcing strategies, and managing contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sourcing and Procurement: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve business objectives, manage procurement pipelines, and assist in the development of procurement plans.
  • Contract Management: Manage various contracts, including Roster and VOR, and report on category performance to leadership.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, conduct performance review meetings, and ensure compliance with City's guidelines and process.
  • Project Management: Lead and participate in the development of competitive RFXs, negotiate contracts, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with clients, foster a team atmosphere, and provide support and assistance in the development of category strategy.
  • Financial Analysis: Complete spend analytics and financial evaluation for complex strategic sourcing projects and provide recommendations on existing and potential new contracts.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or any other related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and/or procurement, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering various sourcing projects.
  • Skills: Strong project management skills, ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, and highly developed knowledge of RFx and strategic sourcing leading practices.
  • Certifications: Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
