About the Role

This is a senior leadership position within Scotiabank's Technology and Operations division, responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Strategic Sourcing Plans: Collaborate with IT leaders to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans that align with Scotiabank's business objectives.
  • Build and Maintain Supplier Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead Procurement Initiatives: Direct and implement best practices in sourcing initiatives, ensuring effective strategy development, market assessments, RFP processes, contract and supplier negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Manage Category Spend: Manage category spend within and across Scotiabank's business segments, ensuring effective supplier management and cost savings.
  • Provide Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance to business stakeholders on procurement-related matters, ensuring alignment with Scotiabank's business objectives.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring Scotiabank remains competitive in the market.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in management, business, or related field; master's degree in business or engineering, CIS, science, or finance an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years progressive sourcing experience, with a focus on technology services-related expertise.
  • Skills: Excellent change-leadership and conflict resolution management, advanced problem-solving skills, and strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations, with a focus on Third Party relationships.
