About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with our culinary team to plan and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train our kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver exceptional service.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition and manage food and kitchen supplies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all food products meet our high standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate our kitchen team to achieve exceptional results and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment.
  • Certifications: Cook Trade Certification or equivalent.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, and lifting heavy objects.
