About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Greenhouse Supervisor to join our team at Kobe Microgreens and Greenhouses Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our greenhouse facility, ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Train, and Supervise Staff: Lead a team of greenhouse workers, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Organize and Coordinate Planting Operations: Develop and implement efficient planting schedules, ensuring that crops are planted, grown, and harvested in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Resolve Work Problems and Provide Technical Advice: Troubleshoot issues and provide expert guidance to staff and management to optimize crop yields and improve overall facility performance.
  • Schedule Events and Programs: Coordinate and plan events, programs, and activities that promote the growth and development of our crops, as well as enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive grounds maintenance plans, ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct thorough analyses to determine the most effective and efficient use of resources, ensuring that our operations are cost-effective and sustainable.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Accurately record and maintain detailed records of all greenhouse activities, including crop yields, staff performance, and facility maintenance.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring that we receive the best possible value for our resources.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on greenhouse equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order and operating at optimal levels.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure the necessary materials, equipment, and supplies to support our greenhouse operations, ensuring that we have the resources needed to maintain high standards of quality and productivity.
  • Supervise Nursery and Greenhouse Workers: Provide guidance, support, and oversight to our nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
  • Supervision: 5-10 people
  • Personal Suitability: Initiative, Team player, Flexibility
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 32 hours per week
