Job Summary

The Healthcare Aide is a vital member of the home care team at Qualicare Edmonton Northwest, working under the supervision of the Care Coordinator to provide personalized care services to clients. This role requires a compassionate and caring individual who can build close relationships with our clients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, ensuring the client's comfort and dignity are maintained.
  • Prepare nutritious meals that cater to the client's dietary needs and preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Accompany clients on outings, promoting social interaction and engagement.
  • Assist with shopping and errands, helping clients maintain their independence.
  • Provide medication reminders and assistance, ensuring clients take their medications as prescribed.
  • Ambulate and transport clients safely, promoting mobility and independence.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Follow care plans and document client progress, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Qualifications
  • Hold a Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent, such as a foreign-trained nurse or nursing student, and be registered with the Alberta HCA Directory.
  • Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain.
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
  • Ability to travel around the location territory.
  • Access to the internet and a mobile phone.
