Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Guard to join our team at the University of Ottawa. As a Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol campus grounds and buildings to prevent and detect security hazards
- Interact with and provide support to individuals experiencing mental health crises
- Liaise with community and law enforcement partners to resolve recurring issues
- Build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff
- Enforce criminal and provincial statutes, as well as city bylaws and University regulations
- Perform preliminary and follow-up investigations, and complete reports detailing observations and information received
- Ontario Security Guard License
- First Aid, CPR, and Oxygen administration certification
- Valid Ontario driver's license with Abstract and Police check clearance
- Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written)
- Security Guard License and Private Investigator License
- Knowledge of the Use of Force Continuum and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Smart Serve Certification
- Knowledge of security practices, terminology, and relevant regulations
