Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Residence Support Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor residents throughout the night, addressing any medical or behavioral needs that arise.
  • Follow established procedures for responding to emergencies and reporting incidents.
  • Support residents with their morning and evening routines, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Administer medications as per established policy and procedure.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and minor building maintenance.
  • Comply with agency policies, procedures, and values, utilizing best practices to support residents.
  • Prepare and assist residents with breakfast preparation.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of related experience.
  • Minimum one year of recent experience in a community-based setting or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Previous experience with operating a licensed home and trauma-informed practice.
  • Training in substance use is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Housing First, Harm Reduction, and Employment First initiatives.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid, WHMIS, and Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificates.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and clean driver's abstract.
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate and Conflict Resolution Certificate.
  • Positive behavior supports experience.
