Job Summary:

Thompson Bros. (CONSTR.) LP is seeking an experienced Outdoor Power Equipment Technician to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB. As an Outdoor Power Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for repairing, servicing, and maintaining small gasoline and diesel powered equipment such as generators, mowers, aerators, chain saws, steamers/pressure washers, and various types of construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair company assets, maintain repair order documentation, and assist other maintenance personnel when required
• Document repair operations and time tracking in accordance with company policies
• Perform technical inspections and document findings
• Inspect and test engines and motors to diagnose and isolate faults
• Adjust, repair, or replace mechanical or electrical system parts using hand tools and equipment
• Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment
• Advise supervisor on work performed and condition of equipment
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
• Estimate repair costs

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of Outdoor Power Equipment Technician experience
• A ticket in this certification is not required, but would be considered an asset
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Thorough knowledge of applicable safety practices and procedures and comply with all safety standards
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required
• Strong communication skills to coordinate workflow with crew, foreman, and superintendent
• Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in camps, if required, working a rotational schedule
• CSTS/OSSA, BSO, or CSO Certification
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test

Additional Information:

This is a full-time contractual term position located in Fort McMurray, AB. The position duration is project specific and based on decisions of our clients regarding performance on site.
