We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team at State Street. As a key member of our Financial Reporting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of client financial statements for Canadian-based mutual and institutional funds.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and plan client deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are achieved.
- Manage a team of 2-4 staff, including training and development, performance reviews, and other responsibilities as required.
- Lead project teams in the creation of special reports to address specific client needs and internal reporting requirements.
- Interact extensively with clients to discuss deliverables and provide updates on market and regulatory changes affecting their financial reporting.
- Oversee client relationships and support the client service team as a subject matter expert in Financial Reporting.
- Review quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements for various fund structures and IFRS and NI 81-106 regulations.
- Manage external and internal audits.
- Review investment industry regulatory and accounting changes and produce client updates as required.
- Train staff and colleagues on changes in the regulatory and accounting environments.
- Lead and manage projects to identify, design, and implement process improvement opportunities.
- Participate in internal State Street committees as required.
- Support the AVP, Financial Reporting in the completion of RFPs and participate in sales presentations to existing clients and external prospects.
- University/College degree.
- CPA/CFA designation preferred.
- 5-6 years of experience in the investment fund industry with financial reporting experience required.
- Experience in preparation and review of investment fund financial statements.
- Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Superior attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of Canadian Fund Reporting and Regulatory Environment requirements outlined under IFRS and NI 81-106.
