Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced instructor to join our HVAC/Refrigeration Department within the School of Energy at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. As a regular, full-time instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs in refrigeration mechanics, HVAC, and related fields.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for entry-level and apprenticeship students in refrigeration mechanics, HVAC, and related fields.
- Design and implement curriculum to meet industry standards and BCIT's educational goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in refrigeration and HVAC technologies.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to ensure seamless program delivery and student support.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years' recent work experience as a journeyperson in refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics.
- Previous supervisory experience with the ability to teach and mentor students.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High standard of technical excellence, experience with electronic control systems preferred.
- Innovative approach with a proven track record in the industry.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
