The Okanagan Indian Band is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Director of Education and Cultural Development. This position will oversee the development and implementation of education and cultural programs for the Okanagan Indian Band.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement education and cultural programs that align with the Okanagan Indian Band's strategic goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to education and cultural staff to ensure the successful delivery of programs and services.
- Collaborate with community members, schools, and other stakeholders to develop and implement education and cultural initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets for education and cultural programs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to education and culture.
- Provide regular reports to the Okanagan Indian Band's leadership team on the progress and success of education and cultural programs.
- Master's degree in Education Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in education and cultural leadership roles.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful education and cultural programs.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community members, schools, and government agencies.
- Knowledge of Indigenous education and cultural practices.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and organizations.
- Knowledge of education and cultural policies and regulations.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language.
