About the Role:

We are in search of a bilingual (French and English) Manager of Systems Engineering to lead a dynamic team of 30-50 systems engineers focused on cutting-edge satellite technologies. This position is ideal for individuals with a robust background in systems engineering who are passionate about team leadership, professional growth, and fostering innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

Mentor and guide a team of 30-50 Systems Engineers. Oversee recruitment, development, engagement, retention, and succession planning. Champion continuous improvement initiatives and enhance customer satisfaction. Implement advanced engineering tools, methodologies, and processes.

Resource Management:

Recruit, assign, and assess staff performance. Ensure staffing aligns with program requirements. Cultivate staff skills and maintain succession plans. Encourage innovation and job satisfaction. Manage departmental facilities, processes, and tools. Oversee budget and capital planning.

Technical Leadership:

Lead Technical Overview Board (TOB) meetings. Coordinate lessons learned and facilitate audits. Promote a culture of Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Provide expert guidance on technical challenges.

Process Development:

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Drive business process improvement initiatives. Uphold health and safety standards.

Business Engagement:

Participate in proposal activities and suggest new product developments. Manage patent applications and safeguard proprietary information. Oversee small projects and support subcontract management.

Qualifications:

At least 10 years of experience in engineering management, ideally within the space sector. Proven leadership abilities, conflict resolution skills, and interpersonal skills. Experience managing distributed teams. Interest in resource management, negotiations, risk management, and financial oversight. Fluent in both French and English. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

Special Considerations:

Candidates must obtain and maintain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
