About the Role:
We are in search of a bilingual (French and English) Manager of Systems Engineering to lead a dynamic team of 30-50 systems engineers engaged in cutting-edge satellite technology. This position is ideal for those with a robust background in systems engineering who are passionate about team leadership, professional growth, and fostering innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
Mentor and guide a team of systems engineers. Oversee recruitment, professional development, and retention strategies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance customer satisfaction. Implement advanced engineering tools and methodologies.Resource Management:
Recruit, assign, and assess team performance. Ensure that staffing aligns with program requirements. Cultivate staff skills and maintain succession plans. Encourage innovation and career fulfillment. Manage departmental resources, processes, and tools. Supervise budget and capital planning.Technical Leadership:
Facilitate Technical Overview Board (TOB) meetings. Coordinate lessons learned and support compliance audits. Advocate for a Design for Manufacturing (DFM) culture. Provide expert guidance on technical challenges.Process Enhancement:
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Lead initiatives for business process improvements. Uphold health and safety standards.Business Development:
Engage in proposal activities and suggest new product developments. Manage patent applications and safeguard proprietary information. Oversee small projects and assist in subcontract management.Qualifications:
At least 10 years of experience in engineering management, ideally within the space sector. Proven leadership, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Experience managing remote teams. Interest in resource management, negotiations, risk management, and financial oversight. Proficiency in both French and English. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.Additional Considerations:
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.Benefits:
