Opportunity Overview
Aecon Nuclear is seeking a skilled EHS Advisor to support the construction of Canada's first Small Modular Reactor on the SMR-X Project. As part of an alliance agreement with Ontario Power Generation, the successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting a healthy and safe culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific conventional safety and environmental management plans and procedures.
- Train project staff in safety procedures and protocols.
- Track and report safety-related statistics and manage Return to Work and Modified duties cases.
- Support Human Performance program activities and assist in the development of JSA, High Hazard, Critical Lifting and Handling forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A designation such as CHSO or CRSP.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety within the nuclear construction industry.
- Relevant Post Secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field.
- Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage sub-contractors' safety performance and work with limited supervision.
- Comfortable with different work locations and job sites.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedules and a champion of inclusion and diversity.
