About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optometrist Assistant to join our team at Havenview Optics Inc. As an Optometrist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our optometrists in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • Develop information materials for patients to ensure they understand their treatment plans
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Maintain accurate prescription records and update patient files as necessary
  • Record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists to ensure seamless communication
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including supplies and inventory
  • Perform general clerical duties, such as processing files and paperwork
  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure efficient use of time
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history to provide comprehensive care
  • Manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure timely restocking
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and files
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Outlook
