Clinical Nurse Specialist

Department: OBS Labour & Delivery
Facility: Women & Children's Healthcare
Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, on-call - 8 and 12 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)
Compensation: $56 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to deliver exceptional patient care. You will collaborate as a vital member of both the Health Care Team and the Nursing Team. Your role will involve:
- Maintaining professional competence and adhering to current nursing practices.
- Documenting nursing records accurately.
- Participating in cross-training for Post-Partum care.
- Providing care in the Labour and Delivery units.
Qualifications:
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing).
- Completion or progress towards a Perinatal Course (within two years of hire).
- Current BCLS and NRP certifications.
- Preferred experience: 2-3 years in a Level II or III Birthing Suite, with skills in advanced fetal monitoring and pain management.
- Experience in the scrub and circulating role for Caesarean births or enrollment in a Perioperative nursing course is preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and teaching abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and supervisory capabilities.
- Commitment to core values: Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy.
- Understanding of safety programs and practices, with a commitment to regular in-service education.
Employment Conditions:
The terms of employment align with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051). Successful external candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector.
