About This Role

Job Summary: The Finance Director at CAE is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of the Business Aviation Training (BAT), Helicopter Aviation Training (HAT), and Maintenance Training (Mx) segments. This role involves forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting, as well as liaising with corporate finance management and the business management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, and budgets for the business units, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  2. Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely financial reports, including management accounts, commentaries, and answers to queries.
  3. Business Case Development: Review and challenge business cases to ensure they are aligned with finance and present realistic assumptions.
  4. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of business unit strategies, including financial structure, tax planning, and other finance-related matters.
  5. Financial Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts for the business units.
  6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Support the business in defining and tracking KPIs to measure performance and growth.
  7. Sales Commission Planning: Involve in the definition and calculation of sales commission plans to ensure fair payment based on performance.
  8. Budgeting and Cost Control: Coordinate and control the budget process for the business unit, ensuring effective management of finance department budget and other finance-related costs.
  9. Team Management: Manage and coach a dedicated finance team, ensuring effective performance and development.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor or Postgraduate degree in finance or accounting with a recognized accounting designation (CPA).
  2. Experience: Fifteen to twenty years of relevant experience, with a demonstrated track record of leading finance organizations as a controller and/or Director.
  3. Skills: Strong financial reporting skills, budgeting and forecasting experience, and a good working knowledge of the simulation-based business.
