Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Community Support Worker to join our team at Strive Living Society. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to children and youth with developmental delays, ADHD, FASD, Autism, OCD, and challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to children and youth in a community setting, assisting them to work towards their goals and develop life skills.
  • Teach social skills, community integration, and independence to promote a fulfilling life.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement individualized plans to meet the unique needs of each child and youth.
  • Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support system.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Class 5 BC Driver's License and clean driver's abstract.
  • Personal vehicle for work and car insurance with a third-party liability of $2 million.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field or combination of education and experience.
  • Positive Behaviour Management Training.
  • Criminal Record Clearance, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Children and Family Development.
  • Out-of-Country Police Clearance Certificate (if applicable).
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • MANDT Training will be offered in-house.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • 3 professional references.
