About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong passion for library services and a commitment to excellence. As a Supervising Librarian, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to library staff, developing and implementing programs and services, and ensuring the effective operation of the library branch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervisory support to library staff, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that meet the needs of diverse communities, including children, youth, and adults.
  • Collaborate with other library branches and departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and programs.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the library branch, including budgeting, scheduling, and facilities management.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in library services and technology, and apply this knowledge to improve services and programs.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in library and information science from an accredited library school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a library setting.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of library policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
