Position Overview

We are representing LRO Staffing in the search for an experienced bilingual professional to oversee a dedicated team in the role of Director of Operations and Labour Relations. This pivotal position encompasses high-level management responsibilities that align with the operational, political, and strategic objectives of the organization. Reporting directly to the National President, the chosen candidate will guide a cohesive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Direct, manage, and enhance the internal Labour Relations, Membership Services, and Finance teams.
  2. Oversee compliance with legislative and contractual representation duties.
  3. Provide strategic advice and support to the National President and Council.
  4. Ensure the internal team operates efficiently and delivers high-quality services.
  5. Facilitate training and supervision to maintain adherence to by-laws and collective agreements.
  6. Advise on multi-jurisdictional labour legislation and ensure compliance.
  7. Contribute to the formulation and execution of policies and procedures.
  8. Collaborate with senior leadership to meet organizational goals.
  9. Manage financial resources in accordance with organizational objectives and budgetary constraints.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related legal field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluency in both English and French is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in public administration or labour law.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • A minimum of 5 years of significant experience representing a complainant in grievance procedures or before administrative tribunals.
  • Experience in advocacy, community organizing, or labour education is considered an asset.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

This position offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $135,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will benefit from a hybrid work arrangement and complimentary onsite parking.
