We are currently seeking a Full-Time Brain Injury Support Worker to provide essential assistance in a congregate care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The Support Worker will be responsible for aiding clients with non-medical daily living activities, adhering to personalized service plans and organizational policies:

  • Assisting with personal hygiene and grooming
  • Providing support with lifting and transferring
  • Aiding in rising and retiring routines
  • Supporting bowel and bladder management
  • Preparing meals and assisting with feeding
  • Facilitating range of motion exercises
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks

All duties must be executed with professionalism, ensuring respect for the dignity and privacy of clients while prioritizing health and safety.

Work Schedule:

The Support Worker will be required to work various shifts, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, to provide comprehensive care.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred post-secondary education in Human and Social Services
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the Human Services sector or working with individuals with brain injuries
  • Current certifications in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and CPR/First Aid are advantageous
  • Proficient in lifting, transferring, and managing bowel and bladder routines
  • Familiarity with brain injury and rehabilitation practices
  • Completion of a Physical Demands Self Analysis upon hiring
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
  • Demonstrated reliability and adaptability in work performance
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
