We are seeking a Full-Time Brain Injury Support Worker to provide essential assistance in a congregate care environment. This role involves supporting individuals with various non-medical daily living activities tailored to their unique service plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care needs
- Provide support with lifting and transferring
- Aid in daily routines such as rising and retiring
- Facilitate bowel and bladder care procedures
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding
- Conduct range of motion exercises
- Perform light housekeeping tasks as needed
All duties are to be carried out with professionalism, ensuring respect for the dignity and privacy of consumers while prioritizing health and safety for both clients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Preferred post-secondary education in Human and Social Services
- Minimum three years of experience in the Human Services sector or working with individuals with brain injuries
- Current certifications in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and CPR/First Aid are advantageous
- Knowledge and skills in lifting, transferring, and providing attendant care
- Familiarity with brain injury rehabilitation practices
- Completion of a Physical Demands Self Analysis upon hiring
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Flexibility to work varied and scheduled hours
- Proven reliability and adaptability in work performance
- Effective teamwork skills
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
This position requires the ability to work across different shifts, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, to provide comprehensive support to our consumers.
