Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Planner to join our team at Société de développement Vieux-Saint-Jean. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing various events, including marketing and communication plans, staff and volunteer management, and budget preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans to promote events and increase attendance.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to support event planning and execution.
  • Develop sponsorship, partnership, or fundraising programs to secure financial support for events.
  • Review bids and negotiate costs for event-related services, including hospitality, signage, and multimedia equipment.
  • Assist in budget preparation and ensure that events are executed within budget.
  • Plan schedules, goals, and objectives for events, and research and design special events programs.
  • Manage event logistics, including site selection, transportation, and accommodations.
Requirements
  • Special events co-ordinator/manager certification.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a hybrid environment, with a mix of remote and in-office work. The position requires a valid driver's licence and the ability to travel for events.
