Position: Guest Attendant
Reports to: Health and Wellness Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in accordance with their personalized care plans.
  2. Administer medications following applicable legislative guidelines and organizational protocols.
  3. Perform general housekeeping duties, assist with laundry, and engage residents in recreational activities.
  4. Exhibit spontaneity and adaptability to enhance the experiences of residents.
  5. Monitor the well-being of residents, report any changes to the supervisor, and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
  6. Accurately document all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  7. Ensure the health and safety of all individuals in the facility by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
  8. Assist with dining services for residents.
  9. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident information, including medication details.
  10. Interact courteously with staff, residents, families, and visitors.
  11. Provide emergency first aid/care until professional medical assistance is available.
  12. Assist with the admissions and discharges of residents when necessary.
  13. Complete training for medication administration.
  14. Support the administration of medications to residents.
  15. Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Preferred: PSW or Health Care Aide Certification.
  2. Experience in retirement or long-term care settings is advantageous.
  3. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  4. Demonstrated understanding and empathy for the needs of seniors.
  5. Good knowledge of the nursing and health and wellness processes.
  6. Willingness to stay updated on evolving regulations, practices, and procedures.
  7. Skills and abilities that support the organization's commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
  8. Mentally and physically capable of fulfilling assigned duties.
  9. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  10. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  11. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  12. Clear vulnerable sector screening (within the last 6 months), recent TB test results (within the last 6 months) or Chest X-ray (within the last year), and two supervisory references are required.
