Position: Guest Attendant
Reports to: Health and Wellness Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in accordance with their personalized care plans.
- Administer medications following applicable legislative guidelines and organizational protocols.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, assist with laundry, and engage residents in recreational activities.
- Exhibit spontaneity and adaptability to enhance the experiences of residents.
- Monitor the well-being of residents, report any changes to the supervisor, and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
- Accurately document all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Ensure the health and safety of all individuals in the facility by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Assist with dining services for residents.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident information, including medication details.
- Interact courteously with staff, residents, families, and visitors.
- Provide emergency first aid/care until professional medical assistance is available.
- Assist with the admissions and discharges of residents when necessary.
- Complete training for medication administration.
- Support the administration of medications to residents.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: PSW or Health Care Aide Certification.
- Experience in retirement or long-term care settings is advantageous.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated understanding and empathy for the needs of seniors.
- Good knowledge of the nursing and health and wellness processes.
- Willingness to stay updated on evolving regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Skills and abilities that support the organization's commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
- Mentally and physically capable of fulfilling assigned duties.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Clear vulnerable sector screening (within the last 6 months), recent TB test results (within the last 6 months) or Chest X-ray (within the last year), and two supervisory references are required.
