Child Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide and coordinate the delivery of psychiatric nursing care services to patients, promoting person-centered care and recovery-oriented approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, identifying actual or potential problems and strengths through nursing diagnosis.
- Provide clinical leadership in evidence-based practices, including nursing assessments, crisis intervention, patient and family education, and health promotion activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and members of the interprofessional care team, promoting cooperation and collaboration.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research, identifying patient care issues and collecting data to inform practice.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, adhering to established safety and emergency practices and procedures.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- One year of recent related experience in an acute psychiatric setting, with experience working with child or adolescent populations.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with patients, families, caregivers, and members of the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to promote person-centered care, demonstrating empathy for patients/families/caregivers, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, and advocacy for special populations.
