Job Title: Banquet Manager

GWALIA CATERING AND BANQUETS - CALGARY is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Banquet Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Banquet Manager will be responsible for planning and organizing daily operations, determining the type of services to be offered, and implementing operational procedures. This role will also involve conducting performance reviews, organizing and maintaining inventory, ensuring health and safety regulations are followed, and negotiating with clients for catering or use of facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and organize daily operations to ensure seamless execution of events
  • Determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to meet client needs
  • Conduct performance reviews to evaluate team members' performance and provide feedback for improvement
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure adequate supplies and equipment for events
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities to meet their needs and exceed their expectations
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty
  • Manage events from start to finish, including setup, execution, and breakdown
Work Environment:

The Banquet Manager will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high expectations. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide exceptional customer service
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
