About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist to join our team at the University Health Network. As a key member of our Cardiovascular Investigations Unit, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre and post-procedural care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures
  • Assist interventional cardiologists and the clinical care team with cardiac medical procedures in a sterile environment
  • Monitor patient hemodynamics during procedures and maintain a safe and controlled environment
  • Collaborate with a diverse clinical care team to deliver high-quality and patient-centered care
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical care and operations
Requirements
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Minimum two (2) years of Cardiology experience including ECG interpretation and use of cardiac meds, and/or critical care experience, and/or experience working in critical assessment and resuscitation
  • Demonstrated evidence of ongoing education in cardiac nursing
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision-making, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to on-call notifications in a timely manner
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Bachelor of Nursing Program
  • Previous Cath Lab experience
  • Completion of Coronary Care 1 & 2
  • Completion of a Critical Care Course
