Opportunity: Building Systems Engineering Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Building Systems Engineering Intern to join our team in Ottawa. This internship offers an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience in the construction industry and contribute to exciting projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of mechanical and electrical shop drawings.
  • Review and verify site installations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support quality control processes to ensure project standards are met.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of commissioning schedules.
  • Coordinate and witness commissioning activities on-site.
  • Assist with the tracking and processing of Request for Information (RFIs).
  • Collaborate with trades and monitor progress on construction sites.
  • Track deficiencies and assist in their resolution.
  • Provide support to project managers on various aspects related to building systems.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • A strong interest in the construction industry and its processes.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret shop drawings and construction documents.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
  • Prior field construction experience is an asset.
