Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Construction Foreman/Woman to join our team at Centennial Contracting Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of highways and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Coordinate and schedule activities to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of construction workers, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources to complete their tasks.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all construction work meets the highest quality standards, conducting regular site inspections to identify and address any issues.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all construction activities are conducted in a safe and healthy manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and other team members, to ensure that everyone is informed and aligned with project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in highway construction, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Hoist Operator (boom truck) Trade Certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, CPR Certificate, and First Aid Certificate.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in reading blueprints and drawings.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Outdoor work environment, with exposure to dust, noise, and other hazards.
  • Work Schedule: 40 to 60 hours per week, with overtime required as needed.
  • Travel: On-the-road job, with travel required to various construction sites.
