Position Overview

Emcon Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated Highway Snow Removal Operator to ensure safe and efficient road conditions during winter months. This role involves operating specialized vehicles and equipment to manage snow and ice on highways.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a similar role.
Work Environment
  • Cold and wet conditions
  • Exposure to noise and potential hazards
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine checks, lubrication, refueling, and cleaning of equipment.
  • Operate various vehicles, including snowploughs and salt trucks.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
Licenses and Certifications
  • AZ class license
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence for semi-trailer trucks
  • Class 3/3F/DF Licence for vehicles with more than 3 axles
  • DZ class license
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Must be able to work under pressure and manage overtime demands

Compensation

Financial benefits will be provided as per the collective agreement. This is a seasonal position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week.
