Job Summary

Liberty Utilities is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Analyst, Financial Planning to join our team. As a key member of our corporate finance team, you will be responsible for managing a team of analysts, supporting business unit leaders and senior management in strategic and tactical decision-making, and driving financial planning and analysis initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coach a team of analysts to achieve business objectives and improve financial planning and analysis processes.
  • Develop and maintain current year and long-term corporate models, as well as utility-level planning models.
  • Evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives, investments, and financing structures on corporate and utility-level financial performance.
  • Participate in forecasting, including monthly forecasts and quarterly updates, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze financial data, and identify trends to update short- and long-term models as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information to senior management for critical business decisions.
  • Support the annual budget process and periodic budget reviews to ensure alignment with company strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with treasury, tax, accounting, and business unit FP&A teams to align planning assumptions with key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a highly analytical environment, with relevant experience in corporate finance.
  • Robust understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts and principles through education and work experience.
  • CPA/CFA/MBA or other relevant financial designations are strong assets.
  • Prior experience in analytical roles such as corporate development, equity research, corporate finance, FP&A, and transaction services.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience, with the ability to successfully coach and mentor junior team members.
