The Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a safety-oriented culture across all levels of the organization. This position requires a proactive approach to engage with both employees and management, ensuring that safety protocols are effectively implemented and adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a workplace culture that prioritizes safety and encourages personal accountability.
  • Deliver expert guidance in the management and execution of all occupational health and safety initiatives, driving continuous improvement in employee safety and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Operations and Maintenance, to facilitate safety planning, incident investigations, and hazard assessments.
  • Act as a resource for the Occupational Health & Safety Committee, overseeing safety training and orientation for new hires.
  • Manage the coordination of Emergency Response Services, including fire safety, rescue operations, and first aid training.

Required Qualifications:

  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation is an asset.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Occupational Health & Safety within an industrial environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OHS Saskatchewan Regulations.
  • Proven expertise in WCB case management.
  • A combination of educational qualifications and practical experience will be considered.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to make prompt decisions and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency regarding safety enhancements.
  • Experience in Emergency Response programs is advantageous.
