We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investigator to join our Enforcement Division at the Ontario Securities Commission.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigation Planning and Execution: Develop investigation plans, lead investigations, and gather evidence to support regulatory action.
- Market Conduct Analysis: Provide expert advice on market conduct and analytical results to inform investigative activities.
- Evidence Gathering and Preparation: Prepare evidence gathering summonses, directions, and affidavits.
- Document and Data Review: Gather, review, and interpret large volumes of documents and trading data.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Partner with technical functional areas to enhance investigative capabilities and insights.
- Case Preparation and Presentation: Prepare recommendation memos/reports, including timelines, schedules of evidence, charts, graphs, and witness testimony synopsis.
- Support to Prosecution and Legal Actions: Support case prosecution/legal actions, prepare and present data analysis, interpretations, and reports.
- Education: Completion of an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Criminology, Computer Science, or other STEM degree.
- Experience: Minimum of eight years of investigative experience specializing in capital markets investigations.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding and knowledge of the capital markets industry, trading products, and role of participants.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to demonstrate professional skepticism, resourcefulness, and good business judgment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently.
