Technical Design Director for AAA Game Development

Responsibilities:

TiMi Studio Group is in search of a Quest Technical Design Director to spearhead the creation of a AAA, open-world game rooted in a novel intellectual property. This project aims to launch across various platforms utilizing the latest advancements in Unreal technology. As the Technical Design Director, you will be instrumental in guiding the development of content creation workflows to realize our artistic aspirations.

TiMi Montreal is an emerging studio within TiMi Studio Group, a division of Tencent Games. We are dedicated to crafting immersive worlds for players to explore for years to come. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with core team members to establish a distinctive, forward-thinking, and feasible creative vision.
  • Design scalable content production processes and tools that align with our creative objectives.
  • Empower and mentor a team of designers to produce content effectively and consistently.
  • Facilitate communication across various disciplines to achieve shared goals.
  • Lead a team of technical designers and promote their professional growth.
  • Encourage innovation across multiple design fields.
  • Define performance budgets for game components and optimize data to enhance quality.
  • Uphold our studio's core values and foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

What we seek:

  • A minimum of eight years of professional experience in AAA game development.
  • Experience shipping at least two AAA open-world titles, including one in the current generation of gaming consoles.
  • Strong technical expertise with game development tools and technologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the video game industry and market dynamics.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • A shared enthusiasm for innovation, particularly in the design and development of open-world games.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 is advantageous.
