Job Summary

Hasbro is seeking an experienced Animation Technical Director to join our Core Team and contribute to the development of a new AAA multiplayer game in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons using the Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with game leadership to develop the overall vision and determine technical feasibility.
  • Build and maintain detailed documentation for all owned features, ensuring no pathways are unexplored.
  • Evaluate the game's vision, design, and technical needs, identifying risks and mitigation plans.
  • Work closely with programmers to assess existing animation and rigging tools and design custom ones to improve pipelines.
  • Support animators, game designers, and riggers with their technical needs, explaining the root causes of risks, blockers, etc.
  • Train team members on tools and techniques, raising awareness of new processes.
  • Resolve complex escalated issues and make technical validations.
  • Anticipate technological advancements and stay up to date on market trends to define best practices.
  • Responsible for performance metrics with regards to animation.
  • Evaluate, design, and develop the pipelines for the animation team and with other departments.
  • Support technical development across all animation-driven systems (gameplay, cinematics, in-game events, etc.).

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing AAA titles.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Animation Technical Director on AAA titles.
  • Good knowledge of MotionBuilder, Maya, and Unreal Engine.
  • Strong analytical skills and a love for efficient problem-solving.
  • Positive and collaborative communication to improve our shared vision.
  • Flexible, adaptable approach with a constant appetite for new knowledge and experiences.
  • Autonomy, motivation, and ability to manage a feature from start to finish.
  • Ability to program or edit scripts is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
