Responsibilities:

* Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention.
* Direct staff and motivate them to achieve their goals.
* Plan and organize daily operations to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
* Provide information and training to employers, employees, and the general public.
* Review HR directives to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
* Train staff on health and safety procedures and protocols.
* Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards and investigate workplace accidents or illnesses.
* Develop and implement health and safety plans to prevent accidents and injuries.
* Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and advise senior management on compliance matters.
* Respond to employee questions and complaints and liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants.

Requirements:

* 5 years or more of experience in a related field.
* Association for Canadian Registered Safety Professionals Certification.
* First Aid Certificate.
* National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) program.
* Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
* Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
* MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word proficiency.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure.
* Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
