Public Health Inspector

Job Summary:
Algoma Public Health is seeking a certified Public Health Inspector to promote and protect individual and community health by educating and enforcing pertinent provincial Acts and Regulations, municipal by-laws, and agency policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and investigations to identify and address health hazards and health inequities.
- Develop and implement health promotion and education programs to reduce communicable diseases and health hazards.
- Collaborate with community partners to promote healthy environments and behaviors.
- Provide technical assistance and support to community members and organizations.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in public health.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree in environmental science, health science, or a related field.
- Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) from the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
- Experience working in public health or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of community resources and health promotion principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
