Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Meter Reader. This position entails the responsibility of accurately reading utility meters and documenting consumption for both residential and commercial clients. The successful candidate will also conduct visual inspections of meters to identify any potential issues or defects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read gas meters and record usage data to ensure precise billing.
  • Perform visual inspections of meters to evaluate their condition and functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and pass background checks.
  • Ability to walk up to 10-15 miles daily while performing meter readings.
  • Full vaccination against Covid-19 is required unless exempt for medical reasons.

Working Conditions:

  • Daytime shifts in an outdoor environment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • All field staff receive safety gear, including boots, vests, and glasses.
  • Paid training, transitioning to a piecework pay structure that allows for earnings exceeding $30 per hour.
