Civil Engineering Technologist
Thurber Engineering is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to enhance our operations.
As a distinguished consulting firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, we engage in diverse project work encompassing transportation, infrastructure, natural hazards, and development. Our assignments often involve complex challenges such as steep terrains, deep foundations, and contamination issues.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, honing your expertise under the mentorship of our experienced team.

  • Conduct construction inspection and quality assurance testing for various infrastructure and transportation initiatives;
  • Perform field compaction assessments of soils;
  • Execute laboratory analyses on soils and concrete;
  • Carry out field concrete evaluations in accordance with CSA standards;
  • Monitor pile construction for driven steel and cast-in-place concrete piles;
  • Collaborate with project engineers and client representatives;
  • Travel to various construction sites as needed.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
~ Completion of a College program in Civil Engineering Technology;
~ 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in construction materials testing;
~ Registration with OACETT or immediate eligibility;
~ Concrete Testing Certificate from CCIL is advantageous;
~ Proficient computer skills;
~ Strong command of spoken and written English;
~ Flexibility for shift work may be required based on workload;
~ Valid Class G Driver's license is essential;
